Please allow as much time as possible for your order and at least 2 weeks prior to collection/delivery. Although every effort to accommodate last minute orders will be made where possible, at busy times we may have to decline your order if sufficient notice is not given as we will not compromise on quality or workmanship.

Full terms & conditions for Gourmet Gastronomy are detailed below. Payment of deposit will be deemed as acceptance that the terms and conditions are understood and apply to your order.




  • All prices are non-negotiable and priced according to the agreed design and size of your cake.
  • Following your consultation / enquiry, your quote is valid for up to 1 month.



  • A non-refundable 50% deposit is required to secure your cake order and chosen date.



  • Payment should be made by bank transfer and details will be provided at time of order.
  • Please message us with confirmation of transfer in order to prompt acknowledgement of the payment.
  • Final payment for your wedding cake is required no later than 14 days before collection / delivery.
  • Final payment for your celebration cake can be made on the day of collection (same day bank transfer or cash on collection/delivery).
  • If full payment is not received and cleared in our account before cake collection / delivery then the order will not be released.



  • If cancellation of an order takes place we reserve the right to retain your non-refundable 50% deposit.
  • If you postpone the event we will endeavour to transfer your order providing the date is suitable for ourselves, otherwise it shall be treated as a cancellation (see above).
  • We retain the right to cancel the booking in very unusual circumstances beyond our control, such as fire or ill health, during which we will refund any money taken in full. 




  • Cake designs are the result of the information given to Gourmet Gastronomy by the Client; written/verbal descriptions and/or a diagram will be used to explain what the Client will receive.
  • Gourmet Gastronomy will not create exact replicas of any pictures or designs of cakes provided by Clients and will always create an interpretation of that design.



  • We will assess your request for an alteration and let you know the effect on the price and any agreed timetable.
  • Alterations requested less than 6 weeks before completion may be subjected to a surcharge.




  • Unless otherwise specified, all Gourmet Gastronomy cakes contain butter, gluten (wheat) and eggs and are made in an environment that handles nuts.
  • Gourmet Gastronomy accepts no liability for Clients suffering allergic reactions from eating our cakes.
  • It is the Client’s responsibility to make Gourmet Gastronomy aware of any special dietary requirements that need to be accommodated in the making of their cake.



  • Most cakes contain small proportions of inedible items; it is the client’s responsibility to ensure these are removed by your caterer/guests before consumption e.g. Support dowels in tiered cakes, ribbon, wires in sugar flowers, Swarovski crystals, flower picks & flower tape etc.




  • Delivery charges are calculated on a mileage basis including return journey. The Client is responsible for providing the correct ceremony, event time and postcode of the venue.
  • Alternatively, cakes can be collected from our premises at an agreed time.



  • It is the client’s responsibility to ensure arrangements are made for the cake table, linen, cake stand & knife, which should all be set- up prior to our arrival.
  • Gourmet Gastronomy cannot be held responsible for the location of the cake at the venue, please ensure therefore that the display location is level, stable and strong enough to hold the cake.



  • Cake stand or decorations can be hired and secured with a cash deposit prior to release.
  • Deposit amounts vary dependent upon the value of the item being hired.
  • Please make arrangements to ensure items hired are safely returned to us within 7 days of the cake release and during peak wedding season within 4 days.
  • Once we receive the hired item back we will release the deposit held subject to no damage or breakages.




  • Gourmet Gastronomy accepts no liability for cakes that are damaged after they have been delivered to the agreed venue location.
  • For cakes delivered to external venues, Gourmet Gastronomy will provide a photograph as proof of safe delivery and setup.
  • Cakes collected from our premises by the Client will be deemed as acceptance of the cakes perfect condition. Damages after this point are not Gourmet Gastronomy’s responsibility.



  • Concerns should be made in writing and evidence of the fault should be included. No refunds are given due to change of mind.
  • Full refunds will never be given for any cake which has been consumed regardless of dispute, as consumption of the cake is viewed as your acceptance that the cake is adequate for the purpose for which it has been supplied.
  • In the unlikely event of late delivery, the maximum compensation will be a refund of the delivery price. We ask for patience with factors that may be beyond our control (e.g. traffic conditions) as we cannot be held liable for any such delays.
